How the count works
“Days until” is the number of calendar days from today to the holiday. On December 24 there is 1 day until Christmas. The live clock counts down to midnight at the start of the holiday in your device’s time zone, so it reaches zero at the same moment your calendar flips.
Holidays that move
- Thanksgiving (U.S.) is the fourth Thursday of November.
- Mother’s Day (U.S.) is the second Sunday of May.
- Easter is the first Sunday after the first ecclesiastical full moon on or after March 21; we compute it with the standard Gregorian (Meeus/Jones/Butcher) method.
