How the split works
The list is shuffled with a Fisher–Yates shuffle driven by your browser’s secure random generator, then names are dealt out one at a time like cards. That keeps team sizes within one person of each other: 13 people in 3 teams become 5, 4 and 4.
Tips
- Classroom groups: paste the roster once — it is remembered in this browser for next time.
- Balanced skill: run it a few times or swap one or two people by hand; pure randomness won’t balance ability.
- Pairs: choose “People per team” and enter 2.
Frequently asked questions

Only in this browser, so you don’t have to paste them again. They are never uploaded.
What if the numbers don’t divide evenly?
