Notes on limits

X (Twitter): standard posts allow 280 characters; links and some characters are weighted differently by the platform.
SMS: 160 characters fit one message with the standard GSM-7 alphabet. Emoji or some accented letters switch the message to Unicode, where one segment holds 70 characters.
Instagram: captions allow up to 2,200 characters.

Do spaces count as characters?
